Exhibition “The clock school in times of war 1939-1945”

From July 01, 2024

Exhibition

A true Clusian institution, “L’horlo” has 1001 stories to tell us….

September 1939, the Second World War broke out. After a few months of a “phoney war”, Cluses found himself in the “free zone”. The consequences were numerous for the school: lack of staff, difficulty in supplying… Then in 1942, the free zone was abolished and the army occupied the school establishment. Daily life is heavily impacted.

As the year 2024 marks the 80th anniversary of the liberation of France, the Watchmaking and Turning Museum invites you to discover this significant period in the history of the school and its students.
