TAG

During this hike, walk through the beautiful hilly landscapes of two exceptional natural sites: the Plateau de Cenise and the Plateau de Solaison. Facing the Bargy massif, also discover the cave of La Glacière, a geological curiosity.

Departing from the Village resort of Mont-Saxonnex, the route joins the mountain pastures of Les Frachets, the Col de Cenise and the Plateau de Solaison.

In summer, you will walk to the sound of dairy cow bells. Throughout the walk, the landscapes are very open and the pastures seem to stretch out endlessly.

Facing the Bargy range on one side and the Rochers de Leschaux on the other, you will also have the opportunity to admire superb panoramas, especially at the level of the Croix du Felay, about halfway.

At the Col de Cenise, the plateau is revealed before your eyes. In this preserved natural area, classified as a Natura 2000 site, it is possible to observe several protected species typical of the mountain environment, such as the Black Grouse or the Bearded Vulture.

Continuing towards the mountain pastures of the Plateau de Solaison, you will have the opportunity to observe the cave of La Glacière, one of the longest underground cavities in Haute-Savoie. A current of cold air maintains this snow almost all year round and coats the walls of the abyss with a layer of ice.
