Les Carroz

Located above the Arve valley, in the heart of the Grand Massif area, Arâches-la-Frasse is known for its Flaine and Les Carroz ski resorts. In winter we amortize the package and in summer we get our agenda straight: Flaine and Les Carroz are full of activities to do with family or friends.

Watchmaking again and again

At the beginning of the XVIII^e century Claude Joseph Ballaloud, inhabitant of Saint-Sigismond, introduced the work of production of subcontracted timepieces for watch factories throughout the region. Araches-la-Frasse is no exception to the rule: many watch workers lived in the town at that time.

Of the world in point of time *

Very quickly tourism made its appearance. The resort of Les Carroz was created in 1936 and the first ski lift was inaugurated in 1939, which at the time was the longest in Europe. Excuse the little! Today, in the middle of winter, no less than 30 tourist beds are occupied!

The village is fortunate to host two internationally renowned resorts on its territory: Les Carroz and Flaine.

Les Carroz is a family resort, with authentic charm and typical Savoyard architecture.

It enjoys a grandiose panorama and quality snow cover every winter. A stronghold of alpine skiing for more than 70 years, the village has retained its charm of yesteryear, while preserving the beauty of the surrounding mountains.
