Enzo Milesi is only 20 years old and he is already a double French champion (just that). In all humility, he talks about his journey and his love for Nancy-sur-Cluses, his village, and Romme, the resort where he did his first skiing.

My name is Enzo Milesi, I am 20 years old, I am in the French ski jumping team and I live in Nancy-sur-Cluses in Haute-Savoie.

Did you say ski jumping?

Ski jumping is a winter sport that comes from skiing. The goal is to jump as far as possible while being as clean as possible. We are judged on distance and style.
I started alpine skiing in Nancy-sur-Cluses. My coach, Jérôme Gay, competed in the Olympic ski jumping games. He introduced us to this sport at the Les Houches resort. I practiced both disciplines: skiing and jumping. Then I really got hooked on ski jumping: I went more and more to the jump and less and less to the ski. It happened quite naturally.
I really like the pleasure it gives. We're flying! It's a feeling that all human beings seek! And I really like competition too. This is why I have continued until today and will continue!

An impressive track record

I am a double French champion for two consecutive years. I finished seventh at the Junior World Championships last year. My distance record is 140 meters.
I injured my cruciate ligaments two months ago, so I won't be able to compete this winter. But I intend to get back into the race!

Romme: return to basics

I was born here, I grew up here in Romme, next to the station. So obviously I skied there all my youth. Even though today, with jumping, I practice alpine skiing less and less, I still come skiing sometimes.
This is where I grew up, where I come to train, where I come to go mountaineering, to stock up on all the things that I like. I love my village and I love my resort. We have a great playground. It's really nice to live here!
