Christophe Muffat, at the origin of the group Les Choucas, created with his wife Myriam, the Cabaret du Mont-Blanc, to keep the group going. After 36 years of touring, Les Choucas settled in Cluses.
Christophe: Hello, I am Christophe Muffat, the founder of Les Choucas. I am also at the origin of this great initiative: Le Cabaret du Mont-Blanc.
Myriam: Hello, I'm Myriam, I'm the event manager. I also welcome customers and manage reservations: I am in direct contact with customers.
The history of the Jackdaws
Christophe: It’s a great story that began in the 80s in Megève. After 36 years of touring across the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region and Switzerland, the adventure continues in Cluses today thanks to the Cabaret du Mont-Blanc. It's a project that I've had in mind for a long time, and Covid allowed me to sit down and think.
I said to myself: “What if I set up Les Choucas at home, stopping touring and inviting people to spend the evening at the cabaret.”
People can book to come and party: it's a place where you eat well and are well received.
A variety of events
Myriam: On Thursday afternoons, tea dances take place with excellent musicians, accordionists and singers. It's a very beautiful moment, we have a very nice clientele, magnificent dancers and the clients are very satisfied.
We also organize Cabaret evenings on Saturdays and Sundays. If we have the request for a birthday, we make sure there is a little surprise.
We have a whole range of possibilities and we are open to all requests. Our goal is to respond and satisfy them as best as possible. So we please as many people as possible in this magnificent place.
Cluses, a destiny
Christophe: We were looking for a place to set up the cabaret and while passing along the white road, we saw this restaurant “Le Carnivore” which was closed. I knew right away that we needed a place like this. We inquired. The business was for sale: we didn't hesitate for a second.
We consulted the Mayor of Cluses to find out if we were wanted in the area: the answer was a resounding YES. We immediately felt welcome and we put all our energy into opening this Cabaret.
