From Cluses to Grand-Bornand via Le Reposoir and the Col de La Colombière
North / South route
Departing from Cluses, the route leaves the Arve Valley at Scionzier to climb towards Le Reposoir. Another option: make the ascent via Romme, on the 2018 Stage of the Tour route. After Le Reposoir, things get serious again until the Col de la Colombière (1613 m), the crossing point towards the Aravis massif and resorts. Enjoy the magnificent panorama of the Aravis massif and the Bargy range, before descending steeply towards Le Grand-Bornand Chinaillon and Le Grand-Bornand village.
South / North route
The last major pass on the Route des Grandes Alpes®: La Colombière (1613 m). The climb begins after passing through the village of Le Grand-Bornand. The first few kilometers take you without much difficulty to Le Grand-Bornand Chinaillon. A few kilometers of slightly steeper climb follow, leading to the pass, the tipping point towards the Arve Valley. Enjoy the magnificent panorama of the Aravis massif and the Bargy range, before embarking on the descent. Halfway up the slope, from Le Reposoir, a possible variation passes through the village of Romme, above Cluses and the Arve Valley.
