Bring hiking poles and waterproof mountain boots to make the most of your hike.
Presentation
The trail winds pleasantly through the snow-covered fields. During this section, you will cross the road several times; be sure to follow the trail markers to rejoin the path on the other side each time. Along the way, you will pass a charming oratory, a testament to the local heritage. Prepare your calves for the next section: the climb to Bellegarde. This section is steeper and requires sustained effort, but the effort is rewarded by the beauty of the unfolding landscapes. Continue to the hamlet of Planzury. At Planzury, turn right towards La Forclaz. The atmosphere changes: you now join a wide forest track. The going is more steady and comfortable, climbing gently but surely through the alpine pastures to the authentic chalets of La Forclaz, the end of your ascent.
Return: the descent is via the same route.
