Presentation
The route begins at the edge of the lake. Walk peacefully along the banks towards the Carmel du Reposoir. Depending on the snow conditions, you can put on your snowshoes here. At the foot of the Carmel, take the path that climbs to your right. After a short ascent, turn left to follow the trail that runs along the edge of the forest. This balcony path offers a spectacular and breathtaking view of the Carmel's rooftops below, nestled in its mountain setting. Take a moment to admire the architecture of this historic monument from this natural vantage point. Continue to the edge of the wooded area. There, turn right to enter the woods more deeply. The path meanders pleasantly under the trees, offering a hushed atmosphere typical of winter outings. As you emerge from the woods, the landscape opens up once more. Continue along the main path that climbs to the left through the snow-covered alpine pastures. This final section leads you to the Caronière chalet, the highest point of your hike. Return: After enjoying the tranquility of the valley, the return journey follows the same route as the outward journey. The descent will allow you to rediscover the views over the Reposoir valley from a different perspective.
