Description

16 km of ascent at 6% average from Taninges, with a preliminary warm-up on the Col de Châtillon, this is the main course of this circuit embellished with exceptional panoramas on the Mont-Blanc Massif.

Direction of travel: anti-clockwise.
Landmarks and connections: Taninges (junction with the Giffre Loop #39 and the Joux-Plane Circuit #36); Le Praz-de-Lys; Onnion; St-Jeoire (junction with the Tour du Môle #25). Description: La Ramaz has only seen the Tour de France riders twice: in 1981 and 2003. Following the suggested route, you will access it via Châtillon and Taninges. At the roundabout in the town center, take the RD907 on the left, then, 300 meters further on, the RD307 on the right. This quieter road, unlike the road to Les Gets, will be the starting point of your climb. In Fry, you will cross onto the RD328, which you will leave 2 km further on for the Praz-de-Lys / Sommant road (RD308). During the ascent, take the time to admire the panoramic views of all the peaks of the Mont Blanc massif. On the descent, don't miss the exit from the main road on your right, at the place called "Chez Besson". You will rejoin the RD226 at St-Denis and turn left just before Laitraz. The return journey will take you via Onnion and St-Jeoire, where you will be directed under the Môle mountain, onto a small balcony road (RD306) leading to Marignier. The last few kilometers will be a peaceful ride on the new greenway to Cluses.
