With us, farmers have been passionate about their profession since childhood. This is the case for Elsa, who has wanted to become a farmer since she was little! Firmly anchored in the land of her ancestors, Elsa is a young woman who knows what she wants. Still a student, she plans to take over the family farm and develop it in the years to come.

“From the age of 10, I accompanied my father to the farm and helped with the milking. I am passionate about it; you could say it's in my blood. I do this job because at home, we are close to animals and nature. I love this job; I am a woman of the land.”
A profession in DNA
“We are the only year-round farmers in the municipality of Nancy. This profession has been passed down since my great-grandparents. Currently, my father runs the farm. We have 80 cows, 36 of which are dairy cows, mostly Abondance breed, a few Montbéliardes and two Tarine cows for pleasure. The milk is transported to the cooperative in Flumet.”
Female entrepreneurship
“I’m at the Poisy high school and I’m taking my agricultural baccalaureate this year. My plan is to pursue a two-year technical degree in agricultural business management and training in production. My goal is to work for a few years. Then I really hope to take over the farm from my father: it’s important to me. It’s much more than a family business, it’s a family passion!”
And while I follow in my father's footsteps, I also want to add my own personal touch: I'd like to diversify the farm and add value to the milk produced on the farm by making my own cheese.
