Aline Varache turned her dream into reality by opening the Lyre grocery store and café in Saint-Sigismond. Offering local produce and shared coffee, her business has become a meeting and socializing hub in the heart of the village.

I am Aline Varache, manager of the Lyre grocery store-café in Saint-Sigismond.

An idea that has gained ground

I previously worked in the world of entertainment: I was an activity leader, then director in a holiday center and after-school leisure center.

I responded to a call for projects launched by the town hall. I've always wanted to open a small business. Originally, I thought I'd do it in Auvergne, in my parents' village, and it turns out that I had the opportunity, living in Arâches, to open this business close to my home.

Good, fresh… and a little coffee!

The store is divided into two parts: a grocery section and a café section. The grocery section sells regional products, fruits, vegetables, some fresh produce, as well as basic necessities that everyone needs every day.

A place that creates connections

I like this place because people meet here. At first, they just come to buy bread, then eventually, they have a coffee together. Sometimes, they live on the same street and haven't seen each other for a long time. This is a place where people chat a lot!

The perfect stopover after a stroll in Agy

Don't hesitate to push open the door if you happen to be walking around the Plateau d'Agy: at Saint-Sigismond, you're just above the valley... often above the clouds!
